Unveiling: GPS Satellite Constellations and the Stars is a series of posters displaying star constellations in juxtaposition with the orbital constellations of GPS satellites. These posters depict a visual history of GPS satellites in juxtaposition with constellations in the stars. This represents the way we’ve permanently altered the natural “landscape” of the stars through our relentless need to innovate. Each poster shows a map of the constellations, the date or range of dates, and a sentence about the iteration of satellites launched on those dates. Each layer of additional satellites gets progressively darker to emphasize the clouding of our atmosphere.

The posters are accompanied by a tri-fold pamphlet. The pamphlets give a brief history of navigation and a thorough timeline of GPS development. One side of the pamphlet is also a small poster print of one of the nine larger posters. This way, the viewers have something to take with them that provides further information about the project.
